connecting people to Jesus and each other

L&P Preschool Program Print

Our PROGRAM is planned around weekly unit themes with an emphasis on a different letter of the alphabet each week. We provide fun activities that enhance opportunities for learning in the areas of:

  • Socialization

Opportunities are provided for both parallel and cooperative play. Children are encouraged to "use their words" in problem-solving situations.

  • Practical Life Experiences

Opportunities are offered to help children master their environment without adult assistance. Things like zipping, buttoning and washing become successes that build confidence and skill.

  • Mathematics

Children will be presented with a variety of mathematical activities that emphasize rote counting, number recognition, one-to-one correspondence, shapes and patterning skills.

  • Sensory

Children are given the opportunity to become aware of their senses and use them for observation, comparison, and classification.

  • Language and Phonics

Children will be guided through activities that focus on letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and emergent reading skills.

  • Physical Development

Activities that foster development in balance, eye-hand coordination, eye-foot coordination, large and small muscle development and spatial awareness.

  • Arts & Music

We give children a balance of crafts and open-ended activities using a variety of mediums. Individual creativity is encouraged. They enjoy musical exposure through instruments, rhythm and singing.

  • Spiritual Growth

Chapel is twice a month. Biblical truths and Christian principals are shared through Bible stories, life application stories, puppet stories, object lessons and teacher examples.
